Brian E. Walsh (President & CEO)
Brian Walsh is a hands-on technology executive credited with many professional and personal accomplishments, including $1B in new contracts and 500% growth resulting from expert implementation of best practices. As President and Founder of Sofiac, Inc., Brian has also received the 2013 Friends of Education Award from Howard County for their STEM involvement with high schools and the 2013 Governor’s Service Award.
His energy is boundless as is his complete commitment customer satisfaction. He is continually playing an active role in his companies and organizations with unyielding focus on driving their missions to success. He is highly engaged in technical work for his customers in areas that include system architecture and design, technical project management, cybersecurity, software development, and e-commerce implementations. He prefers methods and products that favor the use of open source technologies to reduce total cost of ownership and automation critical to expediting reproducible high-quality deliverables.
Outside of work, Brian has Co-founded Exerceo, a non-profit organization that pursues his passion for transforming society by extending relevant learning and mentorship into everyday life. He has Co-founded Cultivation, a model for creating, enhancing, and sustaining learning environments. He walks the words he speaks by mentoring over 225 junior technology professionals every year, providing training and hands-on experiences for each.
Brian calls Glenwood, Maryland, home. When not working and helping others, he shares his energy with his wife and two young children. When he can, he also competes in auto-cross rallies and car racing throughout the state.
Jason E. Faust, MBA, MS (Vice President & COO)
Jason has served as the primary Advisor to the President and CEO since November 2012, leveraging more than 2 decades of experience managing strategic and business operations for a number of central Maryland small businesses. His knowledge of developing service-based organizations has helped Sofiac focus its service offerings and more fully develop core competencies.
In June 2015, Jason assumed the role of VP of Operations, with organizational responsibilities that include overseeing the internal processes of client acquisition and delivery of IT services with focus on developing Sofiac’s unique and innovative workforce pipeline products. In the course of daily work, Jason performs business development activities and works closely with the President on strategic marketing, client negotiations and proposal presentations.
Jason lives by the motto, "If you are not developing your replacement, you are not adding to the potential of the organization." He believes that mentoring and creating opportunity for others is a personal and professional obligation. Jason is a devoted family-man and active member of his personal and professional communities.
