For candidates who are not quite ready technically for a full-time position (but have the right attitude and desire to work in our field), Sofiac does offer its own in-house Talent Incubator, a tool used to ramp up the skills and abilities of the right candidates quickly. Paid work is available to participants of the Talent Incubator in the form of internships, part-time, project-based stipends, and even temporary assignments.

The Talent Incubator is an immersive environment and "Immersion" is our handcrafted unique formula for success that has been refined continuously since 2007. Following the model of Cultivation, Sofiac's Talent Incubator, seeks to provide candidates an open nurturing environment to continue honing their skills both technical and managerial. The Immersion experience exposes candidates to a variety of challenges throughout the process. We have often been heard reminding participants: if it was easy, everyone would be doing it!

Participation in the Talent Incubator (usually) follows completion of one of the IT Initiative programs offered by Exerceo and combines continued learning, multifaceted mentorship, and hands-on-experience in an environment of Cultivation that yields a truly exclusive experience! Participants of the Talent Incubator very often learn working on real-life IT solutions for customers who have the desire to help others excel in the IT field or constrained and limited resource for high priority projects. The work performed by the Talent Incubator thus benefits our clients, but equally as much as our staff by building their qualifications for more technical, more demanding, and higher paying contract positions at our managed service client sites.

One of the many unique and awesome characteristics of this experience is that each candidate is in the driver seat controlling their own success with the inputs being the time and energy. The successful employees engaged through the Talent Incubator and excel in the Immersion experience are the ones who take control and, from our studies, invest a minimum of six to twelve months in the process.

Our Promise

Sofiac will establish multifaceted mentorship relationships with each participant of the Talent Incubator. The assigned mentor will guide you through the Immersion process and help keep you on track toward achieving the goals you provided. Additionally, you will be assigned multiple project mentors who will guide you and other candidates to success on the projects you will get to work on. Sofiac will continue to help candidates that are meeting our expectations until they achieve their desired results.

Our Expectations

Our expectations, itemized below, have been refined year-after-year to outline the most successful formula within our framework for candidates to achieve their desired goals. The candidates that can meet the required and optional expectations while working closely with their mentor will achieve success.

  • Sofiac requires participants to complete one of Exerceo's IT Initiative programs prior to applying to the Talent Incubator. In special circumstances, a waiver can be requested and granted, however, we are deeply committed to the work of Exerceo and believe the foundation it can provide in terms fit and skills development weigh heavily on success of participants of Sofiac's Talent Incubator.
  • Attendance at Talent Incubator classes, workshops and events are important. It takes many resources (time and energy not the least) to make them viable to career development and the needs of our participants. We ask that candidates email iwg@sofiac.us as soon as they know they will not be able to attend a session so the overall and project mentors can plan accordingly. Candidates are required maintain a 75% participation record, as our studies have indicated that this is the minimal commitment level for success.
  • Candidates should be spending some time during the week working on their assignments either completing them, gathering questions, or performing research to prepare for the upcoming working group.   • Communication is an integral factor to each candidate's success. The Immersion process will be rigorous while balancing personal growth with your external responsibilities. To ensure that a candidate achieves the optimal experience they must:
    • Check in with their project mentor at each working group to review their progress.
    • Use the provided tools to update the status of assigned tasks that you are working on, which helps track progress.

    • Email iwg@sofiac.us with any questions, updates, or problems while not at the working group to keep the chain of communication flowing.
  • Candidates should read below regarding the Cultivation process that we follow to familiarize yourself with the it:
    • Step 1 - Candidate Selection, as part of our unique process we use self-selection.
    • Step 2 - Training, these are our working groups.
    • Step 3 - Mission Qualification, candidates must apply for immersion and adhere to our expectations.
    • Step 4 - Familiarization, this is part of our unique immersion process while candidates gain hands on experience while being mentored.
    • Step 5 - Influencing, uniquely, we ask that candidates start mentoring and growing their mentorship skills while participating in the immersion process to help grow their skills.
    • Step 6 - Retention, as we help candidates achieve their goals it is our hope that after they achieve their short-term goals that they will continue to participate in the immersion process to broaden their skill sets!
  • Optionally, candidates are encouraged to participate in any of the other classroom working groups to expand their knowledge.
